St Francis Xavier College in Florey was in short supply of modern Science and Technology class rooms for their growing number of students.

The brief was to transform three existing run-down rooms into a brand-new Science and Technology class room that would set the benchmark for future works within the College.

The project needed be completed during the school’s Christmas shutdown period. With this short construction window, our team arranged several consultation meetings during the latter weeks of the prior school term.

They included:

• meetings with the client, ensuring all key objectives were clearly set out from the start;
• meetings with the architect, ensuring all documentation was current and coordinated with other disciplines;
• numerous existing building site visits were undertaken to ensure this would minimise unexpected finds during construction: these were documented on the drawings; and
• meetings with our key subcontractors to ensure services were available and current, such as water supply and building services.
